SurfMonkey and I got together on Tuesday night for our monthly game night. After our initial, muddled foray into the Sistarra Academy for Mages with the excellent game: Mage Wars Academy, we have been itching to get it back to the table now with a better idea of how to play.
Well, we got it back to the table all right: Three games worth! I played the Wizard and he, the Beastmaster, for the first two games. The first game was a long, fun battle that I lost. The second was a scrapper's skirmish. I lost that duel as well, but I was one turn away from the win as his mage had only 1 life point left. It was a great game! I made some dubious choices in the duel, which ultimately cost me the game, but man, was it fun to lose.
For our third game, we switched mages, and finally, I was triumphant!
We both agreed we are very interested in building our own spellbooks for these two mages and have agreed to play it again next month with our own creations. I can't wait! What a great game!
Until next time, keep on chuckin' dice and slingin' cards! And stay warm!!
