Gaming Weekend!

 Another annual game weekend in the books. This session was at Stormbringer's house, and it was an excellent time had by all. Here are some pictures to memorialize the fun times. 

SurfMonkey Ends Hiatus! Summer Is Over!! Games Happened And Will Continue!!

It was a whirlwind gaming summer! I had a blast running a Tiny Supers campaign, a Tiny Frontiers campaign, a Tiny Living Dead one shot, a D&D 5E campaign, and card and board game fun!

Played a new game by Ohio company ARG Argent Saga. I am intrigued. Going to explore it deeper. Vanguard continues to hit my game table, and there are some great ones on the horizon. It will be a busy Fall gaming time with all the stuff announced at Gen Con hits the shelves. Until next time, sling the cards and roll the dice!

Summer Tabletop Gaming Winding Down...

Lots of gaming at home. Card battles against SurfMonkey. A Dunwich Legacy extravaganza at Tiny House with StormBringr. A ton of Example of Play solo D&D. All around great times with great friends and family. Summer may be coming to an end, but the tabletop will not be empty!

Double the SurfMonkey. Arkham Horror the Card Game Is Mine!!!!

I finally got my hands on the new hotness, Arkham Horror The Card Game. If you remember, I play a lot of Call of Cthulhu LCG solo. Well, now, that will now become a strictly one player game as I have finally found my card game/solo experience/Lovecraftian experience all rolled into this thematic, story-driven, RPG / Card game that I am loving the heck out of right now.

I have played through the three scenarios in the core set. I played with Roland and Agnes. The story is really cool, and if your characters 'lose,' the story still continues. Your actions and consequences shape the scenarios that come after. 

Of course, SurfMonkey has the game as well as well as some downloaded and laminated game aids. Bling, bling! We have begun the core set campaign together. Him playing Roland; me playing Daisy. We managed a fairly successful opening scenario. But then a couple of days later, we tried the second scenario and got trounced twice. The third time mulligan was a semi successful one, and we now move on to the third scenario at our next meeting.

We also got in several plays of Star Wars Destiny. Fantasy Flight Games has yet another Star Wars hit on their hands with this one.

For his birthday, Maximan got Star Wars Imperial Assault. We have got a couple of games in and hope for much more. However, Maximan and I have also started our own Arkham Horror campaign with him playing Roland and me playing Wendy. Still any time at the gaming table is time well spent. 

The other day, the boys and I got in a game I have had for 13 years but have never played. Lord of the Rings Risk. We didn't quite finished, but it was fun nonetheless. And Jasper has found The Precious.

On Sunday of Thanksgiving break, the Starshield Board Game Knights met for a game night of Eldritch Horror and One Night Ultimate Werewolf. Good times!

SurfMonkey Opens the Codex

Surfmonkey and I met for our monthly game and played a game of Codex, the game Tom Vasel sold his Magic the Gathering collection because it totally replaced it. I ended up winning that game. It has a bit of Magic, a bit of Mage Wars Academy, and a bit of RTS computer games. I like it. I think I need a few more plays to love it. 

We also played two games of Vanguard. After the first game and a SurfMonkey triple crit, we played another. I had better luck that game. 

Jasper and I played some Smash Up and Song of Blades and Heroes. Good times.

I got my Forsaken Lore expansion from my FLGS and got it and the rest of Eldritch Horror to the table for a solo game. It was a tough game, but I pulled out a win.

At the game society I run at the high school where I teach, I ran the Save Innsmouth adventure for Cthulhu Hack. It was a great game! The system works great, and the students and I had a great time. They narrowly avoided a hungry Shoggoth and barely escaped alive.
